Just came back from Guilin... I didn't make any mistakes during the whole trip 🫡 The best part of Guilin + Yangshuo‼ ️

1. Important things bear repeating! When you go to a shop for rice noodles, don’t ask the price❗ Just tell the boss, “Two taels of rice noodles”! If you keep quiet, it’ll cost 6 yuan. But if you ask, they’ll push their “signature premium rice noodles” for 20 yuan.

2. Don’t fall for taxi drivers claiming they’ll “discount your way into scenic spots.” They might have tricks to get you in, but there’s no such thing as a free discount—they’ll find a way to make up for it.
3. Steer clear of roadside aunties in Yangshuo trying to招揽 (solicit) you. It’s a sure way to get overcharged.
4. Skip shopping in scenic areas. The same souvenirs are available at outside stalls and stores, often for more than half the price.

5. For getting around Yangshuo’s scenic spots, rent a small electric scooter or bicycle. Shili Gallery gets so jammed, you’ll question your choices!
6. In Yangshuo, strongly advise against beer fish❗ It’s just tomato-stewed fish, and a single fish can easily cost 600 yuan. Stick to local chains like Chunji Roast Goose—tasty and reasonably priced👌
7. Xingping Ancient Town is fun to visit and eat at, but don’t stay overnight 🙅 It’s tiny, and by night, it’s practically deserted.
8. If renting a vehicle near Yangshuo’s scenic spots, shop around—you’ll find better deals.
9. For Yulong River rafting, bring your own raincoat and slippers. Renting on-site is way pricier.

✅✅✅ Recommended ways to enjoy your trip:
⭕️ Any rice noodle shop in Guilin is delicious—no need to chase “popular” ones.
⭕️ In Yangshuo, [Big Beard Rice Noodle] is a local secret. Their signature braised rice noodles are amazing, and most tourists miss out.
⭕️ Highly recommend [Haitian Rice Noodle Rolls]—not the Guangdong style, but uniquely delicious (you’ll lick the plate!). The spicy sauce is pure Guilin flavor.
⭕️ Try [Vietnamese Rice Rolls] in Tiexi. Long and slender, they’re similar to but distinct from rice noodles. Their breakfast spread is a one-stop delight. ⭕️ Don’t miss the 3-yuan [Glutinous Rice]—addictive! Personally, I think it’s better than Guizhou’s version. Nuoxiang Station comes recommended👍 ⭕️ Xiangbi Hill has many scenic cafes—perfect for sipping and watching a stunning sunset. ⭕️ To avoid Yangshuo traffic jams, rent a scooter or bike. ⭕️ Yangshuo’s Bingquan Soy Milk Shop is a childhood favorite for many Guangxi locals—their iced tofu pudding is a must-try. ⭕️ Grandma’s Handmade Milk Tea is a must-drink—Guangxi’s best local brand. All their signatures are great, especially the longan milk tea.
