When it comes to memories of Harbin, the Ice and Snow World takes center stage!
Word has it that this year’s Ice and Snow World will span a massive 810,000 square meters, with 610,000 square meters dedicated to ice structures—making it the largest in history!
And the big slide? It’s gotten a huge upgrade, going from 8 lanes to 14!
I’ve been counting down the days!
Get this guide ready and save it, friends!

🧣🧤 Clothing tips
Temperatures in the park are a few degrees lower than outside. Be sure to bring gloves, a hat, earmuffs, cotton shoes, and cotton pants to avoid frostbite!
Wear sunglasses! The sun is bright and the snow reflects light, making it hard to keep your eyes open
Recommended outfit:
Thermal underwear + fleece liner + down jacket + windproof thermal pants + snow boots
Stock up on hand warmers—for yourself and your phone!

❗️Other useful tips
For warm clothing: Since you’ll need very heavy gear but might not use it again after the trip, it’s better to buy it at local wholesale markets. They’re cheap and super warm! Try Toulong or Clothing City...
For food: Don’t miss Northeast specialties like iron pot stew, barbecue, spicy hot pot, and Russian dishes—huge portions, great prices, and delicious!
Avoid eating candied haws or popsicles outdoors—they’re rock-hard and tough to bite into.
For activities: Book the slide and Ferris wheel in advance at the Ice and Snow World! Lines get really long. Besides the Ice and Snow World, check out the Songhua River Ice Field—it’s very photogenic, just a 10-minute drive away. Search “Beach Tribe” on maps.
Also, don’t skip Harbin Pharmaceutical Factory No. 6, Sophia Cathedral, and Central Street
