Summer calls for rafting, and this is by far the most exciting jungle rafting spot I’ve found near Nanjing!
Kids over 1m tall can join in—the perfect summer getaway from Nanjing for families!
I’ve visited Maoshan Forest World twice: once in spring to check out Monet Garden, and now in summer for rafting and water fun. Here’s a handy guide to the park:
✔️ Getting There
▫️ 1-hour drive from Nanjing, with a parking lot (¥5 per visit).
▫️ Shuttle trains run through the park, stopping at every attraction—hop on anytime.
▫️ Electric cars are available for rent, fitting up to 3 people.
▫️ Walking between attractions takes 5–10 minutes.
✔️ Recommended Route
Park Entrance → Jungle Rafting → Cute Pet Park → Hi Heartbeat Park → Green Grassland → Magic Black Forest → Swan Lake
✔️ Summer Must-Dos
1 Jungle Rafting
This was our main reason for visiting—and it’s perfect for summer vacations!
✔️ Fully shaded by forests—no scorching sun.
✔️ Clear mountain spring water—even if you get soaked, it feels clean and itch-free.
✔️ 1.5km route with fun obstacles: water-spraying elephants, water curtain caves, etc. Gentle currents make it kid-friendly. My son Leo loved it so much we went twice!
✔️ Shower rooms near the exit let you clean up and change afterward.
❌ Rafting Tips
▫️ Rafting ends at 16:00—plan accordingly.
▫️ Raincoats are unnecessary—you’ll get splashed anyway, and the sun dries you quickly.
▫️ Bring a towel and spare clothes.
▫️ Lockers at the entrance store your belongings.
▫️ Water guns and phone waterproof bags: bring your own or buy on-site.
2 Cute Pet Park After rafting, head here to meet ostriches, alpacas, and more—great for kid interactions!

Nanjing's historical sites are so well preserved. The Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is magnificent!
Nanjing is indeed a city with profound historical and cultural heritage. The architectural style of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is very unique.
3 Hi Heartbeat Park (High-Altitude Activities)
▫️ Glass slide: Another water-based ride, safe for kids over 1m. Not too thrilling, but fun to repeat.
▫️ Skywalk, glass plank road, and cliff swing: For adults seeking excitement—go for it!
4 Green Grassland
▫️ Free rainbow slide grass skiing.
▫️ Family-friendly fun: go-karts, bouncing clouds.
▫️ 60,000㎡ Forest Camping Valley—ideal for running around.
5 Magic Black Forest
Home to giant cat sculptures and two massive whale installations—dreamy, cinematic vibes! Deeper in, there’s a kids’ play area.
6 Bonus
If time allows, visit the forest to see and feed deer—charming and peaceful!
Beat the summer heat with this shaded, family-friendly adventure—Maoshan Forest World has something for everyone! 🌞
