Three days and two nights in Guiyang, a nanny-level guide to eating, drinking and playing! 800 per person ➕

I had an amazing time in Guiyang these past few days 🥳! The food, drinks, and activities are all fantastic and super affordable. Let me share my guide with you right away.

🚄 Getting There

• High-speed rail: You can arrive at Guiyang North Station or Longdongbao Station—both are convenient.
• Recommendation: Guiyang North Station is closer to the city center, so it’s a better choice!

🏠 Accommodation Tips

• First day: Stay near the fountain area. It’s bustling, close to many attractions, and offers great value for money.
• Second day: Consider staying near Huaguoyuan (it depends on your planned attractions). Alternatively, you can just stay near the fountain—distance-wise, it’s not far either way.

You don’t have to strictly follow my route; feel free to pick and choose based on your preferences. Here are some key tips for eating, drinking, and sightseeing:

1️⃣ Qianling Mountain Park

• Start with a bowl of noodles in the morning, then head to the park.
• Enter from the south gate, take the cable car 🚡 to the highest point, and walk down—you’ll pass many attractions along the way.
• Must-visit: The zoo! There are tons of cute, docile animals.
• Note: Don’t casually feed the monkeys by the roadside—they might snatch your things!

2️⃣ Qingyun Market

• Packed with snacks and drinks, it’s lively day and night.
• Best time to go: At night, when the lights are on—it’s even more vibrant.
• Perfect for eating, drinking, and taking fun photos.

3️⃣ Dongshan Temple

• If taking a taxi, ask to be dropped off at the intersection of Dongshan Road and Qixia Road—it’s closer to the entrance.
• The mountain views are stunning, and the temple itself is beautiful, making it great for photos.
• It’s incredibly relaxing to sit and feel the breeze up there.

4️⃣ City Walk Route: Yuantong Street → Yantang Street → Provincial Government North Road

• These connected streets are lined with charming little shops: cafes, second-hand stores, accessory shops, cat cafes, and more—there’s something for everyone.
• The streetscape is perfect for photos 📷, with a cozy, atmospheric vibe.

5️⃣ Jiaxiu Tower

• Highly recommended for night visits! It’s not far from the fountain area, so we walked there.
• It’s lively in the evening, great for photos, and ideal for a post-dinner stroll.
• The night views here are absolutely photogenic.

6️⃣ Caijia Street + Minsheng Road + Zhengxin Street

• These three connected food streets are a haven for local specialties.
• If you’re with a group, you can sample a little bit of everything—prices are very reasonable.

7️⃣ Huaguoyuan (White House / Twin Towers)

• The square in front of the White House is packed with people at night, buzzing with energy.
• Best for photos: After dark, when the lights highlight the White House and Twin Towers.
• Stand in the square to capture both landmarks in one shot—it’s stunning.
