It’s no exaggeration to say this hutong stroll is both visually delightful and deeply immersive—letting you feel Beijing’s unique charm, from its ancient roots to modern vibes. Spending an afternoon here is totally worthwhile, and incredibly relaxing~

▶️ Gulou → ▶️ Beiluoguxiang → ▶️ Shichahai → ▶️ Dongjiaominxiang

This path is truly the “Essential Hutong Check-In Route”, blending old Beijing’s nostalgic flair with trendy, contemporary touches.

When you exit “Gulou Street” subway station, don’t rush off—Gulou East Street is pure old Beijing. Every corner feels like a movie scene, perfect for stunning photos!

Beiluoguxiang is much quieter than its bustling counterpart Nanluoguxiang, making it ideal for a leisurely solo walk.

Shichahai is Beijing’s only open-water attraction. Taking a boat ride here in autumn is magical, and in winter, it turns into a lively ice-skating spot—each season brings its own beauty!

Dongjiaominxiang, Beijing’s longest hutong, is lined with old Western-style buildings. Walking through it feels like stepping back in time—atmosphere galore!

• The total distance is about 5km, so wear comfortable shoes. Early autumn sun in Beijing can be strong—don’t forget sun protection!
• Gulou Street is full of photographers, so you’ll never struggle to get a great shot 📸.
• There are plenty of hidden gem cafes along the way ☕—I’ve listed them in Figure 3, so save it!
• Next to Gulou, Yandaixie Street is packed with cultural and creative shops—perfect for browsing and picking up unique souvenirs.
