The National Immigration Administration issued an announcement today that from June 12, 2025, Indonesian citizens can apply for the 240-hour transit visa exemption policy to come to China conveniently, and China's 240-hour transit visa exemption policy has increased to 55 countries.
At present, people from 55 countries including Indonesia, Russia, and the United Kingdom, who hold valid international travel documents and connecting tickets with confirmed dates and seats, can enter China through any of the 60 open ports in 24 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) such as Beijing and Shanghai without a visa and stay in the specified area for no more than 10 days. During the stay, you can engage in tourism, business, visits, family visits and other activities. Work, study, news interviews and other activities that require prior approval should still obtain a visa.
According to the relevant person in charge of the National Immigration Administration, adding Indonesia to the applicable countries of the 240-hour transit visa exemption policy is an important measure to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Central Conference on Peripheral Work and strengthen exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN countries. It will help enhance the good momentum of cooperation and exchanges between China and Indonesia, promote more convenient and efficient trade and investment, and promote mutual learning between civilizations and people-to-people exchanges. In the next step, the National Immigration Administration will continue to deepen the institutional opening of immigration management, continuously optimize immigration entry and exit convenience policies, and continuously improve the convenience of foreigners traveling and living in China, and welcome more foreign friends to come to China with better management and service measures.
